What could be more fun than a cover version of an ELO song? Well, never having been a fan I would probably reply “plenty”, but now I’ve heard this I want to hear more. Sounds like this was an absolute blast in the studio, it’s like they’ve turned every dial up to 11 and just let it rip. Cripes, I can’t wait for their new album. Milliontown was great. This song is one of those that grows on you the more you play it. I hope the rest of the CD is as good.
I don’t think this is going to be on the new album – and from the snippets I’ve seen and heard on Jem’s blog I think we’re in for a real treat! Sounds even better than Milliontown if you ask me.
wow completely missed the point of the original song. The point of the song was that it was supposed to sound like the “future” – because it was a fictional radio broadcast from 2095. This was the entry point for ELO’s synthesizer exploration, and taking out the synth sounds, although still a pleasing melody, completely misses the point of the original song.
