Alice Temple – Chemical Way

In my Eg & Alice post a few weeks ago I said I was trying to track down a copy of Alice’s solo album “Hang Over”. I’ve still not managed to do that, but I did get hold of a copy of the leading single on GEMM (an absolutely essential site to bookmark for tracking down rare stuff – they aggregate the listings of thousands of independent record and book dealers)

So here’s the single. It’s got a decent hook, is nicely produced and Alice’s voice is as good as ever, but I’ve got to admit it isn’t really my cup of tea. Hopefully when I finally track down the album there’ll be something with a bit more soul on there.

I’ve always kinda liked this tune, but I agree it’s no match to the Eg & Alice album or the material she recorded with UNCLE. Just like you I am very curious to hear Alice Temple’s solo album, I hope by now you’ve succcesful in tracking it and are able to share your candy with the other children.
    Kind greetings,
    M

Unfortunately not!!! I set up a GEMM wish list thingy when I wrote this blog post over a year ago and not a single copy has become available since then!

I searched for this album for years and finally got a copy from Alice herself (she’s a really cool person like that). Mine’s a CD-burn and I’m not sure there’s a retail version anywhere. Let me know if you’d like to know more.

Great to see that Sam managed to track down the hard to get hold of Alice Temple Cd. I’ve recently got into Eg & Alice but would love to hear Hang Over – Any chance of a CD burn?

Sam, are you still out there? Demand is growing for Hang Over – can we call 2 people a queue???

Yes I’d like to add my voice to all of those searching for a copy of the “Hang Over” CD. By the way, “Whatever Makes You Weak” is quite a good track from the album in my opinion, and fairly soulful. Unfortunately, that and Chemical Way were all I ever managed to find.

Hi Guys, Is there any chance you could direct me to where I can find the heavenly voice of Ms. Temple on Hang Over? This has to be the rarest album out there – impossible to find!

I’ve still had no luck finding Hang Over. But yesterday I discovered that both Eg and Alice have released new albums in the last year or so! I’ve downloaded both (Eg’s album is called “Adventure Man”, and Alice’s is called “Be With You In A Minute” – both are available on iTunes, and the Eg album is also on Amazon). I’ll be reviewing both later this week, after the first listen I’m very impressed with both…

I’ve been talking to Alice about this and if you visit my site – when it’s up – you’re in for a very, very nice surprise. Good things are coming.

you’re in luck… i have a copy that i got recently at amoeba in san francisco (in the cutout bin for a buck)… it looks like a promo release (V2 records) and there is no information on the band or songs, but it has all twelve songs you listed… unfortunately, i just moved to the sticks and it may be awhile before i get all my musical stuff set up som that i can burn you copies… if you’re in more of a hurry than that, i would mail you the original, let you do the burning, then you can send me back the original… or, if any of you are in san francisco, we could save the postage… let me know… wish

Unfortunately not. But then again I did get an email from Alice telling me it’s better that way as it’s “shite” and was never released!

This blog is intended as a way to spread the word about music I really like, and encourage others to support artists who are making great music. "Try before you buy", if you like. If you hear something you like here, go and buy it - I'll post links to online shops where you can buy each track I blog about.

If you're reading this and you are the artist, or their record company, and you don't want a track I've posted to be available to hear in this way just email me and let me know - I will be more than happy to take the file down straight away. I've heard of other bloggers getting threatened with letters from lawyers, and there is absolutely no need to waste your money on that with me!
